Scenario, Persona, & Value Proposition Reviews
Scenarios, personas, and value propositions are the most valuable user-centered design tools, yet few teams use them effectively—if at all. Use this service to ensure that your scenarios, personas, and value propositions are properly written and effective, and that your product is well designed for them.
Scope
We’ll spend the first day getting to know your product, its target users, and what they will do with it. Next, we will:
- Review your product’s value proposition
Successful products have great value. Your product’s value proposition summarizes its target users’ motivation for wanting to have and use it. It characterizes its benefits, its costs, and how it compares to the alternatives—including doing nothing at all.
For this step, we will review your product’s value proposition to make sure that it is well written, credible, and useful for making good design decisions. If you don’t have a value position for your product, we’ll propose one based on the information you provide.
- Review your product’s personas
Successful products are designed for a specific audience. Note that “everyone” isn’t a specific audience, so products designed for everyone or without a clear target are less likely to be successful.
For this step, we will review your product’s personas to make sure that they are well written, credible, and useful for making good design decisions. If you don’t have personas, we’ll draft some based on the information you provide. (They will be a draft because you’ll likely need to perform some user research to validate them.)
- Review your product’s scenarios
Successful products are design to satisfy user goals and perform their important tasks. Products that are instead designed around technology and features are less likely to be successful.
For this step, we will review your product’s scenarios to make sure that they are well written, credible, and useful for making good design decisions. If you don’t have scenarios, we’ll propose some based on the information you provide.
- Review your product’s design
In this step, we’ll review your product, prototype, design proposal, or spec to see if it delivers its full value proposition and if its top scenarios are well designed for its target users.
Deliverables
